Right, finally found time to sort out the Melbourne photos + thoughts!
Melbourne ‘08 was exactly how I envisioned it to be- not really a holi-holiday kind of trip but more of… getting used to living there. Before the trip, I was quite apprehensive about the whole migrating issue; and I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to shift over at all :/
But right now, after experiencing the Melbourne life (and winter BRR), I can safely say I’m 100% alright with The Big Move :) I can always decide what to do and where to go after the two years required to secure my PR anyway!
Okay the reason why I’ve been MIA for a bit is because… I was on the plane back to Malaysia.
What started off as a ‘I miss home’ whinge on Sunday night became a full blown frantic search for the earliest flight back home. A visit to Malaysian Airlines at Exhibition Street was futile, so a call back home did the trick. All that was left to do was to change the reference numbers on our ticket, pack our bags, and head to the airport that very midnight.
I’m home now -a whole nine days earlier than planned- and sweating my arse off :) Helloooo heat.
I did leave Melbourne with a heavy heart though- saying g’bye to my mum nearly killed me :( The tears, the frantic cling-hugs, the ‘take care’s… Tat tried to make up for the emptiness by being extra attentive on the plane (randomly waking me up at intervals for nothing thanks a lot :p), but I still want my mommy boohoo.
That being said, I missed you Malaysia, stinky toilets and all! Ok time for Max-love round 121324.
Hurray for sleeveless tops :D And yes that is Max T_T
P.s. Sorry Melbourne sayangs for leaving so soon and not notifying you guys ’till now… will make it up to you guys the next time I’m there I promise!
The only contact I have with Max is through the phone… I’ll talk to Max and listen to his little breathing sounds through the speaker <3 I get daily updates from my dad- just the other day, he gave my dad a scare by crawling under the drain cover and taking a nap there hahahaha my dad thought Max was missing. Good to know he’s still as naughty :)
HAHAHA I just discovered that whenever I touch sleeping Tat’s forehead/neck/ears/wherever with the cold tips of my fingers he’ll whimper and shake his head in his sleep HAHAHA! Like an auto-reaction! Fun fun fun.
It’s only 9am and I don’t know why I’m up so early :( I’m usually up earliest by twelve arvo everyday… Ok since I have so much time I shall make an effort to look pretty! Hello make up goodbye fourteen year old girl! Mascara… and more mascara since fake lashes/eyeliner/eye shadow are a bit OTT for me, and I don’t have any at the mo anyway. Wait till I get back mmkay Suet you can doll me up then :D
Ok byebye breakfast is calling… Woolworths’ ready made garlic bread is love during cold mornings yum.
I am once again, missing my other half. Tat’s currently traipsing all over Sydney and will only be back on Tuesday :(
I do miss Tat terribly- but to be honest, his current Sydney trip is proving to be quite a convenient time out as we’ve been bickering a little too often since his arrival at Melbourne. Maybe me being Tat-free and him being Jam-free for a bit will not be such a bad thing after all :/
So after a long day of rumination, I realised that I’ve been taking Tat for granted.
I do admit that I’ve only been focusing on the negatives, overlooking the positives… such as getting overtly upset whenever Tat yells at me, and ignoring the fact that he raised his voice at me only because I was stubborn and refused to wait for the green light (jaywalking is bad, I KNOW). I’ve been glossing over the little lovely things he constantly showers me with, i.e. letting me have my long showers even though he knows I’ll damn well run out the hot water; giving me his share of the comforter whenever I complain of cold feet; getting me the 10×2hrs Metcard ’cause he knows I’m far too stingy to get it…
Sometimes it’s better to just focus on the positives and mildly thrash out the negatives before trashing it out :)
Disclaimer: But DO bear in mind that it’s a completely different situation if the negative aspects are unforgivably out of line, such as if he’s cheating/beating/mistreating you… or if getting into your pants is all he’s after.
That being said, it takes two to fight hmph. So Tuan Li Tat, I’m sorry that I’ve been really, reaaally pushing it, but a little (more) patience will be much appreciated, heheh.
One word: BURPPPPPP. In the span of six hours, we had:-

Fettuccine carbonara courtesy of Chef Dennis
Durian and lychee gelato at Freddo’s with the boys
Again, please!!!

Mucking around in Safeway. I really liked the file ’cause it’s damn spacious and it’s only $1.69! Back home files like these are Rm7+ ok. I have an affinity with stationery can you tell
Tat’s arrival; 24th June
Nicked off Evelyn’s album here! Thank you Eeflin ♥
At Max Brenner before
First hug/photo :)
Eeflin sayang. I forgot what I was sulking about
At the train station before heading home
Today; 25th June
Today’s itinerary consisted of grocery shopping at Centro Box Hill (Tat had fun snickering at ketupats and Old Town white coffee packets at the asian grocery store) then Glen Waverly for a look-see.
I must admit, it’s REALLY nice that I don’t have to go around by my lonesome self anymore… Tat’s poring over the Melway behind me, and that gives me such a nice fuzzy warm feeling at the thought that he’s right here right now with me :)
Ok have to run, Tat’s whinging that he misses my hugs but I really suspect it’s because he wants to leech off my body warmth hmmph.
Oh… and I almost got busted on the tram for having a concession ticket without a concession card :( Read: All passengers travelling on concession fares, including students, must carry the appropriate transport concession card in order to travel on a concession ticket. In my defense, I only realised that I was 5 cents short of the $10.10 fare when I was already on the tram so I didn’t really have a choice…
Ticket Man: May I see your tickets please Jm: *hands it over silently* Ticket Man: Do you have your concession card with you? Jm: Sorry but I don’t have it with me at the moment.. :( Ticket Man: How old are you? Jm: … Fourteen? Ticket Man: Oh that’s alright then!
… I mean it’s great and all that I managed to get off scot free, but do I really look fourteen :(
